Witchmaster Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 I have just bought a 1999 Galaxy Zetec 1.9 TDi and is running fine however there were a few bulbs blown passengers roof light , fog light rear nearside, fog light front offside. Since I have replaced the bulbs the Immobiliser LED has stopped working when I lock the car, the car starts and runs and the central locking is working. Any Ideas ? Quote
BrianH Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 Probabbly broken wires in the door gaiter? (common issue look in faqs or numerous posts with odd things not working) Unless you've taken the door card off and not mentioned it? Quote
Witchmaster Posted June 14, 2015 Author Report Posted June 14, 2015 When I bought the car there was no CD player. It had been removed. I fitted one out of my old car, Today I pulled it out again and pushed it back in and must have dislodged something as it was not turning off properly. After turning it off at the switch (not just ignition) the immobiliser is back working normally so I think I know where I have to look to sort the problem I will have to check the CD Player wiring. Thanks for your help. Quote
BrianH Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 Ah that makes sense actually - If you try unplugging the radio with the doors locked on some fords it will set the alarm off (by design). Certainly the case on the mondeos of the same era so wouldn't be surprised to find the galaxy does the same. Quote
Witchmaster Posted June 21, 2015 Author Report Posted June 21, 2015 This turned out to be quite strange. If I turn my CD player off at the switch on the player, the immobiliser doesn't work when I lock the car. If i leave the CD player turned on at the switch on the player, the immobiliser works fine. In either case the CD player stops as soon as I pull the keys out of the ignition. It is no longer a problem and I can live with it as at least I know how it works. Quote
