mcshane Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 I've just picked up a 2013 Titanium, and we were playing an audiobook via the line-in connector (from my wife's iphone running audible). Every time the narrator was silent for more than a second or so, the volume would cut to silent, and fade back up once the narrator started speaking. I can understand why you might do this - it would mask noises from plugging/unplugging cables. However, it makes audiobooks kind of pointless, since you miss the start of every sentence. Has anyone else seen this? There didn't look like an easy setting to change this behaviour - is there a fix out there? Thanks, Quote
chromedome Posted June 9, 2015 Report Posted June 9, 2015 It could be something to do with the AVC (Automatic Volume Control) setting. This is normally used to increase the volume according to ambient noise but could interfere with what you are doing. I'm not sure but it may be worth messing about with the AVC levels to see if it improves. Quote
mcshane Posted June 10, 2015 Author Report Posted June 10, 2015 The AVC doesn't have any effect, you still get the fade in from silence. Using the bluetooth connection works just fine, so maybe the answer is to avoid using the line in connection for audiobooks. A bit of a pain, I'll do some more digging and see if I can find out anything useful. Quote
MeAndMyGalaxy Posted June 14, 2015 Report Posted June 14, 2015 I wouldn't bother with the line in connection. Physical wires. Yuk. Also you can't shut the glove box. Use the bluetooth connection! Pair the phone with the radio. Better still, you get to control the volume and change tracks/chapters using the steering wheel controls. Far better! Enjoy your titanium. They're Fab! I'm on my 4th Galaxy. Quote
