Could anyone tell me if when replacing the fuel filter on a 2000 galaxy 1.9tdi 110bhp, do i need to prime the filter before replacing or is it just a matter of remove and replace. Any help would be gratefully received.

Thanks from a new member Ian

I just replaced mine last night. Probabley not the best way but I just poured the fuel out of the old filter through the outlet pipe in to the top of the new one. Popped it all back an the car did not miss a beat.

Thanks GaryM will probably give it a try. This being my first oil burner i am a little cautious. Will let you know how it goes or not as the case may be!

Hi garym i've just done the fuel filter change went as sweet as a nut. all i did was remove old one fitted new one turned engine over to draw diesel into filter then released air by slackning screw on bottom of filter retightened screw and restarted engine no probs what so ever, Went for a good run out run just perfect. All i've got to do now is the oil change (oil has to be ordered) might have guessed. Thanks again for your input.
