viperclive Posted May 27, 2015 Report Posted May 27, 2015 Just a thought, check under front passenger seat, there you will find a black plastic box, control unit for alarm, central locking and instant opening of all windows, or closing if key held in open or closed position for about 5 seconds. If you have had a flood in that compartment the guts of that box may well be shot, just helped my mate with his and it was green inside and well shot, don't buy from ford as your looking at £300/£400. Ebay £ 40 + postage. Quote
sparky Paul Posted May 28, 2015 Report Posted May 28, 2015 OP's is a 1999 car, so no box under the passenger seat to worry about. Quote
viperclive Posted May 28, 2015 Report Posted May 28, 2015 Sorry didn't realise, hell of a stupid place to put it, I suppose they moved it because of that problem with flooding. Quote
BrianH Posted May 28, 2015 Report Posted May 28, 2015 looking through some other posts on here suggests that a chunk of the wiring in the passenger footwell is related to the alarm among other things. First thing try pulling fuse 32 (i think this one is for the alarm among some other things) to see if it will shut the alarm off. Also check the wires there (they run along the side of the car under the bit at the bottom of the door - remove the plastic trim and they are clipped down there). See if theres any damage to them.
