gallantfive Posted April 24, 2015 Report Posted April 24, 2015 (edited) I have an occasional metallic-sounding rattle (just like one would expect from an exhaust hitting the chassis) coming from the rear and underside of my Ford Galaxy MK3 (2.0L TDCI 2010).It is usually heard driving over bumps in the road and can continue all that day without much provocation. The next day I may not hear anything despite the same journey. My local Ford garage has looked and cannot find anything wrong. Halfords has looked too and report all is good. It has recently passed its MOT with no problems whatsoever. After thorough testing the suspension and exhaust, etc., all seem fine.I have checked every pocket I can find for loose items, and there are none.I am beginning to think that it may be an original design fault (e.g., the exhaust is simply too close to the chassis or its mountings are not suitable); so when anybody looks it all appears fine.Does anybody else suffer a similar unidentifiable exhaust-like sound hitting the chassis from the rear underside on occasion? Thanks, Charles.
