After all this time i have finally found out how to enable TMC on the VNR 9000 Sat Nav. Ive searched high and low through various Ford newsgroups and forums and found the definitive guide.

On the rear you have two aerial connectors, one for your primary radio connection and second for the TMC updates. The TMC signal is broadcast on the Classic FM station. There are several solutions i have found to connect this up;

A. If you flip off the bottom of the radio and short circuit both mains contacts of the A and B aerial. These are printed on the bottom of the circuit board.

B. Buy a TMC Aerial splitter. (safer option i went for)

There are several companies selling them for around

Just in case you need it here is a full pin out for the ford radios, i found this helpful for wiring in my car kit.

Enjoy :ph34r:

Useful diagram but does anyone know how pins 8 & 9 (Phone Audio #1 & #2) on plug C work?

I would have assumed that when the unit receives the phone mute signal on Pin4, the phone audio input would be taken from these pins and fed through the unit. The unit mutes the radio and displays "phone", but it does not output any signal from the phone audio pins.

Also the Parking Aid Mute pin seems to do nothing.
