viperclive Posted April 10, 2015 Report Posted April 10, 2015 The pully bearing has gone on the tensioner on my mk1 2.3, my question is can i replace the pully only as there is nothing wrong with the tensioner, if so has anyone an idea where i can get one from? Quote
bigdave982 Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 Gsf or euros used to do them for tdi give them a search Quote
viperclive Posted April 11, 2015 Author Report Posted April 11, 2015 Cheers Bigdave, neither of those have them but just managed to order pulley from Camberley Auto factors for £15.00, lot better than replacing complete unit which is about £110, now just got to fit it! They also had exhaust manifold gasket for a tenner, next job! Quote
BrianH Posted April 11, 2015 Report Posted April 11, 2015 The one on the 2.0 is same as idler pulley. I'd suspect the 2.3 is the same. Had mine fail on the trip back from last mot. Quote
viperclive Posted April 12, 2015 Author Report Posted April 12, 2015 Cheers Brian, simple exhaust gasket change has changed into a nightmare, three of the four tubes has cracked across the top due to flexing so now looking for a manifold for 2.3, so far no luck on new ones, one on ebay that I may have to buy.
