MeAndMyGalaxy Posted February 15, 2015 Report Posted February 15, 2015 (edited) My rear washer stopped working a few weeks ago. When I pull the washer stalk I can hear a relay clicking and the motor is turning, so it is not an electrical problem.I disconnected the pipe from the back of the boot light unit and no water flows from it when the pump in the front turns. I can see the pipe runs across the roof from the rear washer and heads down the driver's side of the car. A lot of the forums when referring to rear washer problems refer to the "passenger footwell". Note this is for the Galaxy MK2. On the Galaxy MK3, it doesn't go via the passenger side. I've traced the tube around the front of the bonnet, near the radiator, up the left side of the bonnet until it enters the front of the car about half a foot in from the left (shown in red the picture below). When I call for water I can hear what appears to be a flow of water on the rising column next to the driver, above the dashboard. I wonder whether the pipe has disconnected here. My concern is where is the water running, and how do I remove the trim around here? It feels fairly firmly fitted. Edited February 15, 2015 by MeAndMyGalaxy Quote
MeAndMyGalaxy Posted June 23, 2015 Author Report Posted June 23, 2015 If anyone is interested, in the end I gave up and took it to the garage. The fault lay by the bottle; there is a filter at the bottle and this was clogged. Quote
Sizzler Posted July 22, 2015 Report Posted July 22, 2015 Was it just the rear washer that wasn't working or was it the fronts as well? Quote
MeAndMyGalaxy Posted July 23, 2015 Author Report Posted July 23, 2015 The rear only. I think two pipes come from the washer bottle and if I remember correctly the pump flows in one of two directions to select front or rear. Quote
