Ginettamad Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 My rear central tailgate Ford bage metal front has fallen off leaving the black plastic mount remaining. Some prat then ran over the fallen badge front so its knackererd!Does anyone know how I get this off without damging the surrounding paintwork?Does it have pegs through the metal or is it just sticky back glued?Anyone have the correct part number for a new badge? 2005 55 gal Tdi Loads of differnet ones on ebay so a bit of a gamble to get the correct one?Cheers H Quote
insanitybeard Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) On the Mk2, the parts diagram gives the part no as 1108560, whilst I don't always 100% trust the part numbers quoted, it does seem to tally up- available here. P.S, if you read here, you may be able to get one F.O.C, though on a '55 plate your Galaxy may be too old unfortunately. Edited September 23, 2014 by insanitybeard Quote
chromedome Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 I had to get my new one from the dealer to make sure I got the correct one. Fortunately the guy in the body shop there knows me and replaced it for me. He said they are a right sod to do and there is no easy way. You have just keep breaking bits of the old one off because they are indeed glued on. I think he said there were locating lugs so you get it back in the right place. Quote
marinabrid Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) you don't have to remove the black mount i got a new badge and it just had self adhesive tape on the badge is hollow and simply sticks over the black mount get the right one on ebay the sellers usually state if its a hollow type but i think most are, it was about Edited September 23, 2014 by marinabrid Quote
Russats Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 I've got one you cN have, bought one off eBay and they sent 2.May not be genuine though. Mine looks very close if it isn't.Message me you address and I'll post it out to you if you like Quote
gregers Posted September 23, 2014 Report Posted September 23, 2014 thats a shame coz fords are replacing the badges free if they have discoloured. Quote
Ginettamad Posted September 24, 2014 Author Report Posted September 24, 2014 I had the badge replace by the dealer when I bought it about 6 years ago and now the glue just let go so it got run over but it was not faded. I'll print the free badge doc and try a Ford dealer if I pass one but doubt they'll honour a new badge as my car is nearly 10 years old now althought they say 120 months service which is 10 years? insanitybeard Posted September 24, 2014 Report Posted September 24, 2014 If you mean the tailgate badge, this parts daiagram lists it as 1021061, which looks like a good number- there's one for sale here which carries that part number and is listed for the Mk1 Gal. Quote
