Immobiliser Light On The Dash Doesn't Illuminate

Hello and thanks for your time I've recently bought an 02 1.9tdi (I've had 3 v6s in the past ) and for some reason the immobiliser light on the clock isn't coming on.The car it self and alarm all works superbly,but I like things right can any one throw any light on the subject please ?? Thanks loads

The immobiliser light on the MKII's (diesels anyway) is in the drivers door where the lock button used to be on "olds" cars like Cortinas!
