richabbeycars Posted September 8, 2014 Report Posted September 8, 2014 HiDoes anyone one know how hard it is to change the brake vacuum pipe, every now and again my brakes go hard after the 1st time you depress them, then all of a sudden they will work properly again, i have read the 1st thing to change would be the pipe, but this is located at the back of the engine, do you have to jack the car up in order to get to this pipe. Many thanks Quote
insanitybeard Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 You can probably change it just by going in from the top but you'll need to remove the scuttle at the rear of the engine bay to open up a bit more room and improve visibility and access. Quote
richabbeycars Posted September 9, 2014 Author Report Posted September 9, 2014 HiThanks for that i will give it a go. Quote
marinabrid Posted September 9, 2014 Report Posted September 9, 2014 its easy to do, mine went a few weeks ago, remove scuttle and the pipe is in 2 pieces from the servo it runs along the bulk head then goes to a valve where there are a couple of smaller take off pipes then the 2nd half of the pipe runs to the pump at the front of the engine.
