leepoll Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 Hi All I have a 2002 galaxy 2.8 v6 with a intermittent misfire. The OBD shows its on cylinder 4, so which is cylinder 4? Its had all new spark plugs, so the next trial is the coil pack, so how does the wiring plug come off the coil? One final question (sorry to hassle) What is the actual engine in that car, I have been told its a VW engine. Would just like to know so I can try to find an Haynes manual for it. Thanks in advance Lee Quote
marinabrid Posted August 18, 2014 Report Posted August 18, 2014 (edited) its the vw vr6 engine same as used in high performance vw cars but there are 12v and 24v versions, as far as i know no 1 is the one on the left as you stand in front of the car, if you have separate coils on each plug then its very easy to get them off, i got some water pump pliers and you can gently grasp the top of the coil pack rock it gently and pull up at the same time. depends on your budget but i simply changed all 6, on ebay there is eurocarparts and they were selling them at a knock down price of Edited August 18, 2014 by marinabrid Quote

marinabrid Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 f you mean the connector on top of the coil pack that is simply a multi plug there is a small catch push a screwdriver in to release the catch and pull the connector off or prise it off, they can be very tight fit Quote
leepoll Posted August 19, 2014 Author Report Posted August 19, 2014 Ok cheers for that marinabrid, that is what I meant. Quote
