wji7284 Posted August 17, 2014 Report Posted August 17, 2014 Hi all . I have a mk3 2009 Ford galaxy 1.8tdci and while I was driving on the dual carriageway yesterday she started to stutter and loose power, the esp light came on the dash and then wouldn't go any faster than the snail that passed me. It's the first I tried to sort it myself. I turned the galaxy off waited 60 seconds then turned power on and manually engaged the esp by pressing the button. Then I started her up and it miraculously cured the problem . Has anyone ever encountered this problem or know what has caused it?Many thanks in advance Quote
Rosie Posted December 15, 2014 Report Posted December 15, 2014 Did you hit water on the dual carriageway as you may of aqua planed without knowing it.This confuses the ESP sensor and will go into limp mode until you reset it by switching off the engine Quote
drjotty Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 mine just did the same. fisrt 2 times was wet so thought a sensor was playing upbut live error code reading says fuel pressure high?not sure what is going on how did you fix yours??? Quote
drjotty Posted March 3, 2016 Report Posted March 3, 2016 just changed the fuel rail pressure sensor on mine with a 2nd hand one. ford want to sell the whole fuel rail for £200. yet it simply screws on. job took just 3 minutes with a deep 27mm socket. you can not get a spanner on it as there is no clearance. no fuel spurted out and it ran fine straight away.will let you know on my next run if it appears to be fixed.
