marinabrid Posted August 14, 2014 Author Report Posted August 14, 2014 (edited) done that already but theres no info on what to do if the whole thing starts going round, its impossible to get your hand through the bodywork inside unless they are child size hands to grab the thing to stop it going round you can't hold it either on the outside as its made of some kind of rubber, Edited August 14, 2014 by marinabrid Quote
tzf60 Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 Marinabird, have you tried removing some of the panels by the footwell? I went at my driver door gaitor last weekend - but ended up removing the panels by the fuseboard to get at the inner side of the connector. There is a cut-out in the bodywork where the connector passes through, which has a lug that should hold the inner plug from turning, unfortunately it is a poor design. Perhaps if you turn sufficiently, the inner plug might engage in the lug and hold firm? The wire reapir was easy - it took me an age to get the plus to fasten again. But at least my window opens now. Persevere - you'll get there! Quote
marinabrid Posted August 14, 2014 Author Report Posted August 14, 2014 I'm on the passenger side, i pulled the trim panel away but it looks like you need to remove the glovebox to remove it altogether something i didn't fancy will have another look Quote
