Galafix Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 HiI have just bought a 2007 Galaxy Zetec 1.8 TDi. It was coming up with a message - Brake light bulb fault. I checked and the left brake light was out as well as a couple of tail lights. replaced the tail lights ok, checked the brake light bulb and it was ok, then all three brake lights stopped working.Anyway started checking fuses and testing circuits etc. checked brake pedal switch as well. And worked out that the top brake light globe was now blown. Have replaced it and the top and right side now work as before but not the left brake light. All three rear lights seem to be wired individually back to fuse box under glove box.I think if the top globe goes it stops the rest from working. i suspect either a bad connection, or problem with the relay. But the relays aren't labelled and the manual doesn't say which is which. If I know which one is the right one maybe I can swap it with another relay just to check if it's the relay. So if anyone knows which one it is or where to get a wiring diagram or workshop manual, or better still has fixed this problem I would like to know please. Galafix Posted August 18, 2014 Author Report Posted August 18, 2014 on closer inspection I have found that the lights I was looking at were rear fog lights, and have now all rear lights working. Though i could swear that one of the fog lights was coming on with the brakes, which is why I thought it was the brake lights. Someone else who saw it also thinks one fog light was coming on. but it is all working now. Quote
