anmar75 Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 The story started when a dinosaur friend pulled the handle to the brim and looks like that have broken the cable Opened the plastic cover and lowered the handle manually Phoned ford they dont sell that cable on its own they told me that you have to buy the whole handle mechanism for Quote
gregers Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 wondering if you could make up your own cable from a bike shop?? Quote
SilverBeast Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 Probably worth moving to the MK3 section as it's a MK3? Quote
SilverBeast Posted July 8, 2014 Report Posted July 8, 2014 Look at the results of this ebay search there are some cables and handbrake repair kits further down the page. Quote
skyla Posted October 13, 2017 Report Posted October 13, 2017 Hi I'm new to this forum. I have just fitted a handbrake release cable to my 2007 Galaxy, I bought the cable from ebay, with a view to saving money on buying the complete assembly. The cable is very awkward to fit i.e routing through the hollow sections in the handbrake structure, I have done this instu by the way. I now find, where the nipple comes out of the side handle it seems to be about 15mm short to fit into the release button. I think I have gone around a corner I shouldn't have done. I will keep you informed. I have had a price to supply and fit from a ford dealer on 14.10.2017, £600 for a new handbrake complete. Quote
