dean willcox Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 Hi I have a Galaxy mk 2 2002 2.3 petrol manual that will not startfrom looking at known issues it has all the symptoms of relay 30 replacement , ?except i can hear the fuel pump prime when ignition key is turned to 1st postion .so my question is can the relay still be the problem ? Regards Quote
insanitybeard Posted June 19, 2014 Report Posted June 19, 2014 I believe (and stand to be corrected) that the 2.3 petrol has a separate relay for the fuel pump other than relay 30. Quote
dean willcox Posted June 20, 2014 Author Report Posted June 20, 2014 insanity beard many thanks for response so it would explain why i can hear pump priming fingers crossed its a cheap relay Quote
sparky Paul Posted June 20, 2014 Report Posted June 20, 2014 insanitybeard is correct, fuel pump relay is separate, next to relay 30 and marked 167. Steady then fast flashing of the door LED usually points towards relay 30 problem. Quote
dean willcox Posted June 20, 2014 Author Report Posted June 20, 2014 thanks sparky paul hopefully fix monday ? Quote

gregers Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 with a magnifying glass,WE kid you not. Quote
xavier Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 I feel your pain, when I was concreting in new fence posts I thought I'd accidentally set my only key in with one of the posts. If you can't find the chip I don't think it's a new ecu (at least I hope not!) but it'll be Quote
xavier Posted June 23, 2014 Report Posted June 23, 2014 Check this thread for a pic of what you're looking for : http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php?/topic/22594-key-transponder/page__p__164188 Quote
BrianH Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 It should be possible to find someone to clone a key for you since you have an existing one which does still work if you don't manage to find the pats chip. Anyone who is cutting these type of keys commercically (local motor spares shop for example) should be able to either do it, or point you in the direction of someone who can. Hopefully you will locate it though Quote
xavier Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 Think you misread Brian : As I only have 1 key how do i get a 2 nd key to work ? Quote
xavier Posted June 24, 2014 Report Posted June 24, 2014 Timpson can cut a spare key for you and clone the PATS chip, Quote
BrianH Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Think you misread Brian : As I only have 1 key how do i get a 2 nd key to work ?Exactly as Xavier said - either find the pats chip, or get another key cut and programmed (somewhere besides ford will be a lot cheaper). Is it a remote key you have thats not working? Quote
xavier Posted June 25, 2014 Report Posted June 25, 2014 Not sure how easy it is for an auto lock-smith to program a new key if you don't have any, thought this would be a dealer only job? Quote
