marinabrid Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 Hi allHave got new servo pipe to fit due to old ones cracking up, can someone tell me if they are just a push on fit at either end i don't want to damage anything when fitting, does it just prise out of the servo unit and pull of the other end where it fits on the engine. Thanks Quote
BrianH Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 Theres a barbed type slide on connection that the pipe slides onto - do you have the fittings on the end of the pipe or just the rigid pipe? (I replaced mine with silicon pipes as it was what i had available at the time i discovered what the source of the hissing noise was, so left the connector in place and just cut what remained of the hose off then slid it over the top of the old connector barbed end). If its in the servo itself it just prises out the other end you may need to cut off carefully to remove. Quote
marinabrid Posted April 22, 2014 Author Report Posted April 22, 2014 the pipes seem to be complete with fittings on each end thanks Quote
BrianH Posted April 23, 2014 Report Posted April 23, 2014 it should just prise out of the servo with care. Depends what bit you have on the other end as to how you approach that end, but it should be reasonably easy to work out. Quote
marinabrid Posted April 24, 2014 Author Report Posted April 24, 2014 got it fitted but fiddly as you have to remove the fuel filter and a couple of air pipes to access it, the servo end does pop in and out easily but the other end on the vacuum pump is very very tight fit , its a plastic ribbed nozzle that is part of the vacuum pump lid that it slides onto, anyone changing it is advised to prise it off very carefully in case it snaps i heated the end with hair dryer and it slipped on very easily.
