JamesM Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 Hi All, Just bought a 2.2TDCI MkIII Galaxy and need to add a towbar for the caravan and a trailer (not at the same time!!) Therefore ideally I want a flange towbar with twin electrics, and I've got two prices from my local indy fitter. One is for bypass electrics, and the second one for about Quote
gregers Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 when we had ours fitted to our smax we were told it had to be coded to the system so that all lights etc worked correctly and then has to be redone if you want it removed. Quote
JamesM Posted March 19, 2014 Author Report Posted March 19, 2014 Thanks Gregees, My fitter is happy to do it either way, and everything will work, but I'm just not sure exactly of the benefits of coding to the car? Apparently the stability program might adapt, but I don't know whether that is neglible or will make a big difference ? Thoughts please anyone? Thanks James Quote
KAR Posted April 22, 2014 Report Posted April 22, 2014 I was told a fixed towbar might trigger the reversing sensors (especially if I had a witter bike bracket fitted) so was advised to go for a removable one. I wouldn't know if there was a problem until the towbar was fitted by which time it would be too late to change. So I opted for removable to be safe. I wanted to fit a flange bike rack and bumper guard so opted for a Witter removable flange type. At the time Witter online were only charging an extra Quote
