chromedome Posted March 17, 2014 Author Report Posted March 17, 2014 Don't believe it, Q Drive drive shafts arrived. Now trying to get the GKN ones delivered. Quote
chromedome Posted March 17, 2014 Author Report Posted March 17, 2014 You may have dislodged one of the ABS sensors when you changed the drive shafts. Quote
breen77 Posted March 17, 2014 Report Posted March 17, 2014 Chromedome hopefully I have better luck with the J&R drive shafts fingers crossed!! It's not ABS lights it the Airbag light that is on and it was on before I did any work to the car!! Quote
chromedome Posted March 17, 2014 Author Report Posted March 17, 2014 Sorry misread the post. Drive shafts sending me mad............................. Quote
chromedome Posted March 17, 2014 Author Report Posted March 17, 2014 Well after a lot of messing about I got the GKN Lobro shafts and they were fitted tonight. The vibration at 20mph has gone and accelerating fairly hard up to 70mph is smooth as silk. The J&R shafts used to vibrate all the way. We are wondering if I've noticed these problems because my Galaxy is the more powerful 130PS but might be wrong. Now to try and get my money back. Quote
niallsan Posted March 18, 2014 Report Posted March 18, 2014 Hi chromedome Out of interest.....what price did you pay for the GKN shafts? Looking at their website, they look like they should be good quality. Were they delivered from the UK? thanks Niall Quote

It's not ABS lights it the Airbag light that is on and it was on before I did any work to the car!! Once the airbag light comes on you need to reset it - vcds with a suitable cable works ok for this. If it still stays on then it could well be your clock spring thats gone, but you can confirm which airbag is causing the problem with vcds either way. Quote

This is just the cable which I can assume it connects to a laptop?? It says that the software for it may have a charge applied is this correct? Quote
BrianH Posted March 19, 2014 Report Posted March 19, 2014 Thanks for reply. This is just the cable which I can assume it connects to a laptop?? It says that the software for it may have a charge applied is this correct? Some versions of vcds do need payment to unlock certain functions, but the airbag module is fine in vcds lite which you can get from ross tech > http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/ You also need a suitable cable - one that says its a vag-com cable is ok > This one for example http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAG-GROUP-USB-COM-PORT-OBD2-II-KKL-ECU-DIAGNOSTIC-CABLE-LEAD-WORK-VCDS-LITE-409-/271036790042 Once you get hold of the software/cable post back if you still have issues. but suggest starting a new post for that issue as it will get too mixed up with this one otherwise. chromedome Posted March 26, 2014 Author Report Posted March 26, 2014 (edited) Euro Cars Parts must be the worst for giving refunds. I've waited 10 days so far and no funds. I keep getting told that a refund has been sorted, each time a different day, and have to wait another 5 days for the money. Grrrrrrrrrrr. Edited March 26, 2014 by chromedome Quote
xavier Posted April 29, 2014 Report Posted April 29, 2014 online or in the depot? Any refunds I've had at the depot have been credited back there and then, mind you these were for small sums for on the shelf bits. Quote
chromedome Posted April 30, 2014 Author Report Posted April 30, 2014 The refund was from the main on-line store. Got it eventually. I found the local depot very helpful. Quote
