GalaxyToad Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Hello all, My first post on the forum! Have been a member for a number of years and got lots of useful info so thanks to all contributors. My current problem - engine judder and poor acceleration. Taking the kids to school this morning, the engine management light came on and the car didn't want to accelerate as quick as she normally does. Coupled with that, there is quite a bit of judder/shaking which I can feel coming through the accelerator pedal and steering wheel. Got back home OK, but not sure what to look for. I've had a look under the bonnet and the engine does seem to be shaking about a bit more than usual, but no sign of loose leads, connections etc. Any ideas? Any pointers would be much appreciated. insanitybeard Posted February 4, 2014 Report Posted February 4, 2014 Sounds like it could well be a misfire, in which case the coil pack could well be at fault, and/or plugs and leads- see the below thread also: http://www.fordgalaxy.org.uk/ford/index.php/topic/26374-23-petrol-mk2-car-shaking-at-idle/ A misfire, depending on how bad it is could cause the vehicle to judder/ run lumpy and make it run roughly, especially on acceleration.
