rwilts Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 Hi still loving my 2002 1.9tdi Zetec but find it frustrating reaching over to change volume etc... Does anyone know if you can buy the radio control stick ( for 6000 ) and install it yourself? Dont mind a bit of hard work but would prefer not to cock it up. And no i couldnt afford to buy a Ghia, Quote
Guest nimrod Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 I cant see why it cant be done! the only problems I can see are that the plugs on the loom are not there to accept the stalk? and IIRC the new stalk clips onto the existing control stalks mountings, without looking at the existing stalks and knowing wether or not they are able to mount the new stalk or will you have to change those as well? it could be an expensive addition if you have to start replaceing other parts to complete the job! Guest nimrod Posted July 12, 2004 Report Posted July 12, 2004 I looked on a pre face lifted model today in a breakers and the radio control stalk does indeed clip onto the existing stalks, not sure if its the same on the later models? as there were none their with remote stalks  Quote

rwilts Posted July 14, 2004 Author Report Posted July 14, 2004 cool, sounds like the perfect answer, does it stick to anywhere you want? ie the steering column? can you confirm the functunality of it, volume and cd selection etc Quote
Guest EVSS Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 yes im looking at it now (oher) seek/presets/disc/am,fm/vol,up/down and you get a little plate that you screw to the cowlings or wherever and then the stalk clips on.the plug that fits to the radio is a 6 pin plug.the plug is yellow and fits between the power and the speakers plug.
