gregers Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 have you checked the wheel nut are tight,or the roll restrictor hasnt snapped?just other ideas for you. Quote
viperclive Posted January 14, 2014 Report Posted January 14, 2014 Change roll restrictor bushes, they may look ok but go hard and you can get knocking, also check wishbone rear bush as they are prone to part alowing the wishbone to whip up n down again knocking. Quote
BrianH Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 help ive got a loud nock seems be coming from passenger front done usual stuff changed drop links , track rods and still no joy i cant seem to find any visible signs does anyone have any ideas ps ive checked battery and spare wheel , it only happens over a bump or speed ramp etc I had (still have actually the problem, but due to failed clutch not using the Galaxy at the minute) the same sort of issue. i found the shock absorber had around 2 inches of play on it at the top. If you can jack the car up on the side in question see if it moves. I'm told its a failed top mount most likly but due to dealing with another car haven't got round to doing anything about it yet (the top bolts on mine are rusted to hell so aren't going to be the easiest to get off either). BrianH Posted January 16, 2014 Report Posted January 16, 2014 Only other thought is the undertray moving? Quote
SilverBeast Posted January 17, 2014 Report Posted January 17, 2014 If you jack the car up and lift the front wheel off the ground, the top of the the shock absorber will move (though I'm not sure how much). It is designed that way and there is an instruction for MOT testers about this as some have been failed for this, when it isn't an issue. I believe it sits in an inverted cup so the weight of the car keeps it located. As the Galaxy isn't really intended to be driven with the wheels off the ground it shouldn't be an issue! Quote
