To all,

I wonder if anyone can help me.

I have a 2.0 Tdi Galaxy Ghia - X --57 plate

I have had my brake pads replaced by my local mechanic and now on the system computer a warning light saying TPMS malfunction.

The tyre pressures are shown in the tyre menu but the Tyre Pressure monitoring Malfunction warning light comes up when I start the car. Then goes off ..but the amber ! stays om

Is there a way of resetting this after the brake pads were replaced?

Is there a problem with the valves/sensor?

Is the garage liable to fix them if they damaged them?

Pls advise

Thanks

George

welcome to the forum,i have removed your other post. ;)

are you sure you havnt got a puncture?

if not then phone them up and tell them that the problem has only come up since they have worked on the car,be prepared though.

they will probably deny all knowledge.

Thanks for your reply.

I have told them and they said they will fix when I bring it in on Friday.

Lets just see...do you think they damaged the monitoring system when they replaced the pads?...would this affect it?

i have no idea, but have you checked to see if any of the tyres have a nail/screw embedded in them?

No they're fine.

The display shows the tyre pressure values but when I start the car the warning light comes up saying "tyre pressure monitoring malfunction"

The pressures have been recognised but the monitoring part is malfunctioning..ie the bit where if the pressure drops , a message should come up.

It definitely worked before as I remember 3 months ago the message came up to say " front left tyre low pressure" and I pumped it up to 30 psi and the message went.
