fordmad07 Posted January 1, 2014 Report Posted January 1, 2014 Hi ive got a 2007 2.0tdci ghia galaxy im having some issues with it.At the start of December I went out to start the car, the car hadnt been started for 10 days the battery was flat, so I got it jump started to get me on my way. The dmf +clutch needed replaced so I replced it in the middle of December the car is still starting an running fine.but this past few weeks it has needed boosted everytime I went to the vehicle. I tested the battery an it needed replaced so bought a new battery yesterday put it in vehicle an still when I try starting vehicle it very lazy as if the battery was discharged.i checked both earths one at battery an one between gearbox mounting bracket everything ok. I put a jump lead between gearbox and negative on battery just to rule out the earth lead. I tried starting vehicle again a few times then it started without any problems. I then took vehicle for long journey everthing running 100%, then car started to run lumpy an cut out. When cranking over this time battery an starter sounded healthy. It doesnt seem to be getting fuel?? Or am i missing something out?? when cranking over the starter cuts out after about 10-15seconds. If any one has came across this problem or has any advice itwould be greatly appreciated. Best regards Jamie Quote

Stopped en route, switched off engine, difficult to start. Stopped in Canterbury at traffic lights, switched off engine, very reluctant to start when traffic lights were green. gregers Posted March 27, 2014 Report Posted March 27, 2014 well ive recently had a very similar problem on my smax as you are having.parked up in a car park out side my local halfords, listened to the radio for about 1/2hr and couldnt start the car.called out breakdown peeps, and he TOO said my starter was drawing to much and tried to convince me to go the the nearest garge of his choosing.and got the hump when i refused.if you have done the on board diagnostic check it will tell you the voltage of your battery, mine was in the morning saying around 11.8 and after a drive 12.2,and then back down to around 11.8 once i had finished work.in the end i had to have a new battery and this is staying on 12.4 constantly.so my reckoning its a battery problem.
