Mazamban Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 I'd be very grateful if someone could tell me the correct way to fit the dust shroud for the Mk 2 rear brake caliper piston. Having fitted the rubber shroud to the piston, and wound in the piston with the correct tool, I find it's impossible to push the rubber shroud down into the caliper (the Haynes manual says do it that way). So I assume the rubber shroud has to be stretched over the piston, then fitted into the caliper body, then I must wind in the piston and lastly make sure the shroud is seated ok in the piston groove. Is this correct? Many thanks! Quote
gazmech Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 Put the rubber in the caliper first then stretch over the piston with some lube on. Quote
