4danes Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 Hi Folks, Just bought my first Ford Galaxy MK1 on an R reg. Great car for carrying around our 4 Great Danes now have removed the rear seats.Much better than the Transit we had. Just a few problems, usual heater sometimes works on 1,2 & 3 but always works on 4. Main beam warning light the blue one doesn't illuminate. the clock in the headlining works but the background doesn't light up, impossible to see at night. All 4 door speakers were kicked in by the previous owners kids, so no radio. Pain in the ass removing the door panels t fit new speakers. Key fob is knackered so I can only lock it with the key, no alarm. Rear wiper has a mind of it's own and wags it's tail like an excited spaniel when ever it feels like it. Can't complain, I only paid Quote

SilverBeast Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 It'll cost more than that to fill it up twice! Quote

If you could point me in the right direction for a diagram of what relay does what I would appreciate it. Thanks Quote

gregers Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 if there not listed anywhere in our faqs you may well find them by doing a search of the forum. Quote
Scorpiorefugee Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 There is a Haynes Manual which covers that model which you may find useful. I think if you unlock and lock in quick succession the deadlock comes in - you should hear a double locking noise and the alarm should come on by simply locking it. Pretty certain that if the LED on the driver's door is flashing the alarm is armed. Quote
4danes Posted November 19, 2013 Author Report Posted November 19, 2013 Solved the central locking & alarm, just one rear door that doesn't close on the central locking now. Headlamp main beam blue warning light is proving to be a pain in the ass(leave that alone for a while). However I am losing the will to live with the heater, mine is 1997 2.3 16v the resistor is green non hedgehog type.Guess what I can find a red one a blue one but no green unless I go for a mk2 green one. Can anyone help out with the reason for different colours & do I definitely have to fit another green one? I can't get the part number at the moment as it is snowing. :39: Quote
4danes Posted February 24, 2015 Author Report Posted February 24, 2015 Could someone please point me in the direction of some help. I have tried a search in the forum to no avail. When I change the direction of airflow on the heater it doesn't point down to my feet instead the hot air comes out of the centre vents. Is there a way to fix this please. Mine is the rotary knob type with the 3 knobs in the centre of the dashboard. thank you. Quote

BrianH Posted February 27, 2015 Report Posted February 27, 2015 You will have more luck in the technical section than here, The door locking is probabbly a broken wire in the gaiter at the door pillar (solder in a new piece of wire don't try rejoining it). Speakers i've got 3 of the four plastic covers on mine broken (the remaining one is brittle). In that state you can almost see the screws holding the speaker in place, I've been considering replacing with standard speakers with a metal grille to protect them, but have got more urgent issues to sort first. It looks to me that if you can find speakers of a suitable size that this is possible without removing the door card. Failing that the door card is easy to remove, slightly more difficult to get back on after though (your bound to break some of the retaining clips, so getting some ahead of tackling it is recommended). Clock if you haven't already discovered prises out of the housing, bulb is in the back in a holder, twist to remove it and take somewhere to find a suitable replacement,, Not sure if the main beam warning light is a bulb or an led without taking the speedo out (another job i need to do as well as the backlight on the fuel gauge has blown on mine).
