Hi there, x plate mk2 galaxy. Blower only works on setting 3+4. Presume relay issue under fuse board please can someone confirm if this is the case? Also which relay and is it level 1 or 2? Thanks

I'd check the blower motor resistor first, quite common for these to burn out and the most likely culprit if the blower works on some speed settings but not others. Not entirely sure where the resistor is on the Galaxy but I'd imagine somewhere up under the dash in the vicinity of the blower itself, possibly removing the passenger side (lower) glovebox will give you access.

If you remove the glove box you will see the resistor pack attached to the side of the blower assembly, usually red or green in colour. Very common and is more than likely the cause of your problem.

If you do a search I think someone has managed to fix theirs.

I like the idea of repairing if possible don't like to fork out money lol

The only serviceable part is the thermal fuse which sits on top of the resistor pack.

If this has gone open circuit then you may get away with replacing it and for the cost it is well worth a go - cheap from maplins.

Take care if soldering - use a heat sink (its a thermal fuse!)
