Hi guys,

I'm at a bit of a loss to which I should order. I have a 2001 1.9tdi and have removed the current one but there is no part numbers on it so I'm under the impression that it's been replaced before for a cheap unit.

Now the problem I have is that I have found that there is two listed for the car and I'm not sure which one it should be. I have even checked the Bosch website and that also lists two.

The two that are listed are....

0 280 217 121

&

0 281 002 757

Can anyone point me in the right direction of which one I need?

Thanks

Adam

Can't help with the part number, but I can give the thread a bump up.... I guess it depends upon the engine code, i.e what bhp the engine is.

What I would say is that aftermarket MAF sensors are generally a disaster. If they do work, they tend not to last long. When you do find out what part you need, go for a genuine Bosch item if you can afford it, or a good secondhand Bosch unit it you can't.

Phone your local dealer part dept and see if they can give you the correct part no.

I got one from Ebay which was not a Bosch one but it was a recognised make using different technology and did 100K until the engine died at about 250K. About

Found the make - Pierburg. At the time this was claimed to be more efficient and reliable than the Bosch and seemed to uphold that as it outlived the car. Sorry, not found one on Ebay yet but it was a bit like

I wasn't sure if mine was giving funny signals so just got a second hand one to check first before forking out on a new one but the car behaved the same so I thought can't be that must be turbo so left it.
