The first time this happened, i put it down to a poor driver (me), the second time was a totally different set of circumstances.

1st time.

Overtaking a line of cars, kicked down, and passed with ease, however Enigine Protection Control alarm came on, I just assumed I had over revved and promised to be good in future.

However, the gear box appeared to stay in kick down mode, for the rest of the journey home it appeared to be in one gear lower than it should have and never got into top, gear changing (auto) was very jerky both up and down.

Next day all faults had cleared.

2nd time.

Just pulling away from stop (sedately), however it had been raining, so bit of wheel spin but no over revving. (expected stability control alarm)

EPC alarm came on and gear box exhibited same performance as above.

Two hours later after standing fault still there, but, next day all clear

Is it me or a fault, does gear box normally stay low when EPC comes on.

should EPC faults reset themselves.

Has anyone else experienced this and can perhaps explain it.

Regards,

Tony
