Topbloke Posted July 4, 2004 Report Posted July 4, 2004 don't now what exactly it is but it is surposed to look like that i think it is a valve of some sort and have seen plenty that look the same on various other models trust me :( Quote
Richmond Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 I don't have my car in front of me, but I'm pretty sure that there isn't one of those under the bonnet (there may be one with something else attached to it). I hesitate to disagree with Topbloke (he is, after all, a top bloke), but it looks broken, or at least as if it has a bit missing, to me. Quote
seatkid Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 IMO from the cracked paint line - definitely broken, other half missing - looks like a valve. That pipework looks a mess - have you had rats in the engine? (my mum had once - made a right mess of the wring looms... Quote
Guest nimrod Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 That's how its meant to look! try sucking or blowing through it! IIRC its a one way valve that is operated by the solenoid valve its attached to, I had one but it fell off and was never seen again! Quote
Topbloke Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 i also had one and it fell of when i pulled it ooopps wrong site :( Quote
Richmond Posted July 6, 2004 Report Posted July 6, 2004 I bow to superior knowledge, but it seems incredible that Ford or anyone else could put something finished like that under the bonnet, especially where it can be seen. Quote

I think its one of those bits your not meant to look at to closely! its like when you buy a house, it all looks good on the surface but its not untill you move in and start takeing bits of it apart that realise how bad it is! :( Quote
