Check the door seals any tears or chunks missing? check the drainage holes in the doors, if these are blocked the water may build up and leak past the vapour barrier into the car! on the Galaxy the rear washer hose runs through the car and is prone to leaking! not sure if that applicable to the focus? but worth a look? also check the gromits in the floor pan and any cable entries for signs of leaking! on one of my cars water was finding its way in past the threads of the rear seat belt mounting in the floor pan under the rear seat! a good coating of silicon sealer put paid to that  also check around the hand brake cables entry point!

not sure if all these suggestions are applicable to the Focus but it should give you an idea of where to start looking:D

another way to trace leaks is to lift the carpet and dust the area with talcum powder! then get someone to hose down the car! if the water starts to appear you should be able to trace it to it point of origin by the trail it has left in the talcum powder!

ps. use non scented talc or people may start to talk! :o

The leak turned out to be a poorly fitted replacment windscreen. I thought it was strange when this was suggested, but removed the chassis number cover in the front footwell and it was wet under there too.. Autoglass refitted the windscreen, replaced the carpet felt and cleaned it.

The first idea of the problem was the car mising up a lot.
