nigton Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 Ford Galaxy Mk3 2006 2.0TDi Fault: Discharges the battery, if the car is not used every day. At the moment it will not start after being left overnight. This is definitely not a battery or a charging problem. It has had 2 new batteries over the last year and because of the constant recharge and drain the batteries are not lasting. The correct battery is being used for the type of car.I have done plenty of investigations over the last 6 months. The problem is R2 in the engine compartment is operating all the time (I have swapped with the same relay within the fuse box and this had no effect)The current drawn from the battery fluctuates between 1A and 200ma. (from central fuse box)The only way to stop the discharge if the car is going to left a long time is to disconnect the red and yellow feed to the central fuse box under the glove box. When the car is locked and left to go to sleep (I have been told 30mins minimum) it never does because the motor and gear assembly to the heater system never stops operating. It operates every minute (continuously all night) not allowing the car to shut down. (see pic)Has anyone had this problem and does anyone know what controls the 2 gears and motor? Does it have a mode switch or could the gears be out of time?Is there a service manual or wiring diagram available for the Galaxy MK3? I have looked everywhere on the internet and cannot find one.Any information would be very great full .ThanksNigel Quote
gregers Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 welcome to the forum. just a thought have you checked on the ford etis site to see if there is a tsb on your car ?. Quote
nigton Posted September 17, 2013 Author Report Posted September 17, 2013 HiThank you for your reply. I am not a auto trader and do not have an account with etis to retrieve technical service bulletins.I also forgot to say every time I start the car the aircon comes on @ 22degrees with the fan blowing.Could there be a firmware update?ThanksNigel Quote
gregers Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 go to the etis site, type in your reg and the details of your car will come up,within the page should tell you of any recalls that your car may of missed? does it do this even when you have turned the aircon off before turning the ignition off? nigton Posted September 17, 2013 Author Report Posted September 17, 2013 (edited) I switch the aircon off, turn the stat control to 18 and also switch off the fan after every time I start the car and they are in this position when I turn the ignition off . When I restart the car they always come on in the mode previously stated.I have just looked at the etis site using the original car reg number and cannot see any recalls. The original car reg was DS06 XYZ. It is now on a personal plate. Thanks Edited September 17, 2013 by nigton Quote
