a18nkd Posted September 12, 2013 Report Posted September 12, 2013 (edited) if you only get the noise when you turn then try power steering pump or steering rack try a few things like turning while parked up do you still get the noise if not its only when drive train is in motion try putting the front end on axel stands turn both ways do you still get noise try the engine running while on axel stands you may be able to pinpoint the noise a bit better try turning wheels by hand while on the axel stands etc Edited September 12, 2013 by a18nkd Quote

a18nkd Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 Is it not the pads rubbing the disk go for a easy drive stop and feel the wheel is it hot (watch out it might be really hot tho) have you jacked the front end up and spin the left wheel separate from the right you usually find this if the bearing is goosed also try wobbling each wheel top/bottom and side to side failing that i'd take it to a garage see if they can tell you whats up with it Quote
niallsan Posted September 19, 2013 Report Posted September 19, 2013 (edited) Hi Michael 8168I had a noise from the front right ' as I thought' in my Galaxy lately.Brought it to a mechanic...took it for a drive down motorway...you could hear the noise much more while driving but sitting in the passenger side it was barely noticable. He was convinced it was drivers side wheel bearing, so changed that one....didn't solve noise.Brought car to a different mechanic and he said it was def passenger side bearing...changed...noise gone.Apparently the noise travels from one side to the other??? Is it more noticable on pass. side or drivers side?? N Edited September 19, 2013 by niallsan Quote
