Mfc1955 Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 Hi I have a mark 1, 2.3cc 1998 with quite a lot of water collecting in the drivers footwell and under the seat. The roof lining is damp adjacent to the sunroof drain on drivers side and also the front pillar on drivers side appears wet. Have poked curtain wire through passenger side sunroof drain and eventually the wire appeared exiting in f.n.s. wheel arch and water now flows through it. However on drivers side, curtain wire does not appear and seems to get lost within the front wing, with no water exiting. Before I try to prise down the headlining in this corner have others who have fixed similar problems been able to replace the tubing from the sunroof drain down to the wheel arch? Many thanks Kevin Quote
Shabazmo Posted September 3, 2013 Report Posted September 3, 2013 You should not have to replace the tubing. First get into the wheel arch area by removing the wheel arch lining. You will see the rubber exit tube of the drain pipe. Stick a screw driver up the hole and unblock it. You will see lots of dirty water gushing out. If this does not work then the pipe has come undone from the sunroof end. Remove sun visor and other plastic bits. Lower the roof linning and you will have access to the pipe. Use a jubilee clip to attach the pipe back on to the sunroof drain spout. Job done. Quote
