chrislloydie Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 Been told I need a new MAP sensor. Seen a lot of non OEM ones for sale online. Anybody bought one and can recommend a brand. Or anybody know a rough price from ford or VW? thanks Quote
seatkid Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 A MAP sensor or a MAF sensor? (Both exist but the MAF sensor is the usual one that fails) Quote
chrislloydie Posted August 7, 2013 Author Report Posted August 7, 2013 MAP sensor. Car showing Manifold pressure fault code. Quote
seatkid Posted August 7, 2013 Report Posted August 7, 2013 What is the fault code? Pressure deviation fault codes are usually caused by a stuck/sticky turbo vane mechanism (very common). Quote
chrislloydie Posted August 7, 2013 Author Report Posted August 7, 2013 I dont know the actual code, just what the garage told me over the phone. I cant find my lead to hook up to my laptop with vcds lite either. Quote
sambulance Posted August 9, 2013 Report Posted August 9, 2013 I got the cheapest one i could from carpartd4less (about 20 quid). I fitted it at work after months of limp mode. It took 2 mins and you should be able to notice the power difference instantly. Ive had it on my car for over 3 years with no problems. Dont go to expensive its only a boost sensor. Its maf sensors you need to spend on getting a decent one Quote
chrislloydie Posted August 10, 2013 Author Report Posted August 10, 2013 Cheers mate. Ive ordered the cheapy one from euros for 23 quid. Will give it a try before I splash out in anything more expensive. Quote
