stevenwhelan Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 Hi guys its my first post here and looking for a bit of help with my 2003 ford galaxy 2.3 automatic petrol. I've been away for 3 weeks and when i returned my car won't turn over at all. Its been parked up for the 3 weeks. The digital display says there is an airbag fault which was never there before. Has anyone any idea what has happened and how the problem can be resolved. Thanks for viewing and any help offered. Just one thing i have tried jump starting it with a starter pack, power windows and radio working, thanks. Quote
seatkid Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 Sounds as if your battery died and went to heaven.... Quote
stevenwhelan Posted July 30, 2013 Author Report Posted July 30, 2013 Thanks seat kid, is it a new battery needed or what can resolve the problem. Lights and wipers windows radio all working fine, is it definatly the battery? Thanks for your help. Quote
seatkid Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 Thanks seat kid, is it a new battery needed or what can resolve the problem. Lights and wipers windows radio all working fine, is it definatly the battery? I'm not sure what you are saying. Did it jump start ok? Is the car engine starting and running normally now? In which case the battery was flat but you now revived it. Its difficult to say if the flat battery or another fault has triggered the airbag fault, but the only way to reset the light is via diagnostics (e.g. VCDS). VCDS will tell you more about the fault if there is one. Quote
stevenwhelan Posted July 30, 2013 Author Report Posted July 30, 2013 No i cannot get the car to turn over at all, not a thing happening. Have tried booster pack, jump starting off another car, tried disconnecting battery for an hour, nothing has worked. Head is wrecked last thing you need after getting home for holidays. Quote
seatkid Posted July 30, 2013 Report Posted July 30, 2013 First thing - is your key a remote fob type? If so, did it get dropped/opened at any time? - if so the PATS chip (immobiliser) may have fallen out. Have you another key you can try? Quote
