paulfoel Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 Presume this just means an oil service is due? Checked oil and its not oil level. Does this indicator do anything clever like monitor the state of the oil or is it just a time/mileage thing. Also, manual says oil needs to be changed asap. In reality, assume its not urgent. Quote
seatkid Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 The indicator comes on according to a schedule - oil service comes on after 9500 miles (15,000km) or 12 months, whichever comes first, since last reset (normally at last service). You can choose to ignore it, even reset it yourself, but in all fairness if you want to keep the engine/car in good condition you should get the oil and filter changed and serviced in line with the service schedule. A couple of weeks wont make any difference (VW used to allow up to 1 month/1000 miles over as a limit for warranty purposes) Quote
wetandwindy2 Posted September 29, 2013 Report Posted September 29, 2013 how do you reset the above (aservice light) after an oil change Quote
chromedome Posted September 29, 2013 Report Posted September 29, 2013 Hold in the odometer reset button whilst switching on the ignition. Quote
paulfoel Posted June 26, 2014 Author Report Posted June 26, 2014 Right. So its just a case of holding button while starting ignition to reset? Quote
