mightyandy Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 Hi Guys,I have a 1999 Sharan 1.9 TDi, I took the car to local garage to have the air conditioning system refilled since we've had two days of heat in the UK and cant stick it.Anyhow, I was told there was a leak in the system, on inspection the pipe which goes form the compressor to the front radiator was sheared off about 2-3 inches from the compressor.I was going to take a run down to the local breakers yard and see could I find a matching pipe off a Galaxy, Alhambra or sharan tomorrow morning.I've removed the section of the pipe which went to the radiator, but have not removed the 3 inches left in the compressor as I was working outside and I've ran out of daylight, I just wanted to verify how to remove this last section of pipe and is there anything needs done while re gassing the system besides replacing the dryer unit?Any comments would be greatly appreciatedAndy Quote
gazmech Posted July 9, 2013 Report Posted July 9, 2013 If u find one. Please let me know where u are as . Need the same pipe and can't get any in Wrexham. Quote
mightyandy Posted July 12, 2013 Author Report Posted July 12, 2013 I unscrewed the 8mm allen head bolt which heald the pipe into the compressor, however this removed both pipes at the same time and I didn't see how to disconnect them. So I bought a honda civic I consider this an excellent fix to my air con problem.LolSorry guys :S Quote
