Ids Vcm Clone Any Good?

As title really.  I have been using a Volvo DiCE Vida clone for a few years and that's a gem compared to generic code readers as it gives access to all modules. 

 

My Torque android app is not revealling any codes in  our 2007 2.0 TDCi Galaxy even though it goes into limp mode quite frequently then cites and ESP Malfunction/Engine Malfunction as the cause.

I've read mixed reviews of these but the reviews are usually a few years old so the clones may have improved?
