I bought a 03 Alhambra a week ago.  Thought it was an OK deal, basically sound.  Though it had a few known issues.

Then a friend points out the off side tail light is out.  Simple cure: put in a new bulb.  Still not working.

Check the front.  Not working either.  Not so clever after all.

Time to do some homework.  Read up on the net.

Find a wiring diagram.  Eventually check parking light.  Buzzer works but not the lights.  Fuse seems OK.  Eventually run a meter on everything.  Low voltage only.

All this has taken a week.  I am now wondering have I got a serious problem which will not be solved just by a new bulb or even a new switch.  As a few more issues show have I bought a dud and load of trouble.  Perhaps this is just some unknown relay but please not the wiring loom.

So another day and start again from basics.  Check with the meter which seems confusing so I decide to check everything against the working side.

Open up the working near side rear light unit.  First routine of course check the bulb.

Hmmm.  New bulb does not work.  LH bulb does work.  Try left hand old bulb in Of side.  Works.

Oh well.  All that worry for a new bulb that was dud out of the packet!!! :48:

Now just need new bulbs, a fuse to replace the one I dropped and cant find then later on start on the headlights.  I understand they have a motor as well as inaccessible bulbs.  Motor system   needs sorted as well but at least the lights are fine for now.  Not to worried about the front side light for a week or so as I only drive on dipped or main.

Well decided to fix front side light.  Not to bad except that the lugs locating the bottom of the headlight unit are a pile of rust.  OK another job.  But the lights work and the unit appears stable enough.

Now to finish the drive shaft I have been avoiding and think over plans for other issues.
