Mitchellgalaxy Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 I've changed fuel filter and now car won't start. I've pulled fuel through from tank but still no joy. Not sure if pump from tank to filter is operating. Any ideas ???? Quote
dooroy Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 What engine in your Galaxy ?When you say pulled fuel through do you mean pulled it up to the filter - or pulled it through the filter . Quote
huwb Posted June 30, 2013 Report Posted June 30, 2013 What engine size is this? There is no in tank pump on my 2.0 TDCi. When I replaced our fuel filter recently (my first ever diesel filter change) I attached some rubber tube to the screw-in valve at the top of the filter assembly and used a mityvac suction tool to draw fuel up. Provided fuel is drawn through the filter you should be OK. Quote
Mrdb Posted September 14, 2017 Report Posted September 14, 2017 (edited) Just for future searches. Fill filter with diesel undo bleed nipple and fill some more with tube a syringe via nipple. Tighten nipple. Turn filter upside down so pipes are on bottom. Get someone to start car. May take a couple of goes. Once running rev to 2000 for a few mins then turn filter right way up.
