I disconnected the MAF on my 110 bhp to check whether the dire performance improved - it did....

Thing is the cable and plug disappeared over the back of the air filter whilst disconnected and I had to reach right down to retrieve it. When I did I noticed another sensor (thing?) on the same cable loom and I don't know where it has come from. It has obviously disconnected itself from somewhere. It's not just a plug connector but the whole thing. It has two wires coming from it and as I say is part of the same cable loom that goes to the MAF.

Anyone know where it comes from so I can pop it back?

Cheers,

J

If it looks like it has the part of the what ever it was connected to is left in the plug! dont worry about it! on certain models its connected to another sensor but no one seems to know where and why?

I reckon this is what I've got. I'm not daft and I could find where it should go given the length of the cable etc. It could well be a redundent part.

Anyone else confirm this? Has anyone else got an extra part hanging off their MAF lead about 6" back from the MAF connector.

Don't worry, on the Tdi there are two connectors on the MAF loom, one is unused and usually is clipped to the LH bulkhead though this clip is very flimsy.

No-one knows what its for....
