neiluk Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 (edited) I've been delighted overall with my Galaxy over the last 6+years and I'm actively looking into buying another one before something expensive breaks. I wonder if you could answer a couple of Air-con related questions for me as my currents car's air-con broke quite soon after I bought it. 1. Which is deemed to be the most reliable, the air-con on a late Mk2 or early Mk3 2. I know Galaxy air-con isn't the most effective around but which would keep the car cooler on a hot summers day, Mk2 or Mk3? 3. Is it worth hunting down a Mk2 with the dual condensator system (extra vents in roof)? Does it make the car much cooler than the usual setup and is it any less reliable? Thanks very much in advance, Neil. Edited May 19, 2013 by neiluk Quote
gregers Posted May 19, 2013 Report Posted May 19, 2013 as you are aware these cars are bloody huge to try and cool down, even on my smax it takes a while to get the car cool.even on the other halfs smax its the same.so at least i know there working as they should.funnily enough before i bought my old mk2 i test drove another mk2 with non climate and i seem to remember it was bloody cold when the aircon was on,either that or the wife was plzed to see me, :46: ;) Quote
SilverBeast Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 The mobile specialist who repaired the Dual Air Con on my 2005 MKII said the vents got cooler on mine than on his S-Max even when it had just been re-gassed. Quote
gregers Posted May 20, 2013 Report Posted May 20, 2013 yeah gota agree with you the mk2 did seem better. Quote
Scorpiorefugee Posted May 29, 2013 Report Posted May 29, 2013 The simple air con (NOT climate control) was way better on the MKI than the climate contol on the MKII and MKIII. But then I hate climate control,. I just want it to do what I want it to do without frigging around with a multitude of silly buttons and then wait for a half baked computer to make up it's mind how it's going to annoy me this time. ;) Quote
