Brake Pad Wear Light On

I have a broken wire/bad connection on my brake pad wear light.  I have traced it to the last pad sensor (OSR) and the fact that there is no earth on the last wire.

 

The wiring goes from the rear wheel, up onto the back axle and then goes behind the exhaust heat shield.  Where does the wiring come out and where should it actually be earthed?  Is there a main distributed earth that the wire runs back to and is there a common place that the wiring fails?
