What Sensor Is This Please?

Hello. Hopefully picture has attached. This plug has never been plugged in since i'v had the car. Just wondering if the previous owner would of disconnected it for any particular reason?? Thanks.

Coolant temp sensor. Also affects diesel injection timing so starting and running. Possibly disconnected if the sensor is faulty.

Ah how strange, because never (touch wood) had any trouble starting or running, and the temp gauge has always worked. Warms up to about half way, seems like normal temp. maybe il connect it and drive around for a bit and see what happens??

Its a thermal switch used for one of three possible purposes....

So if it has a brown connector and 4 pins then its something to do with the air conditioning....
