What Gearbox Oil For Mk 2 6 Speed

Hi

I would like to change the gearbox oil in my MK2 2003 6 speed,the owners manual quotes Ford N052171VX00 for the oil but Fords say its a VW box.

I rang VW but they don't recognise the number,they said it should start with G, any one please know what oil it should be.?

Hi,

 

Your best bet is to get it from VW it is fully synthetic and the current VW number is G052171A2 - that's for the 6 speed box and is recommended now.
