Galaxy newbie Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 Just bought an engine from eBay and had it delivered but I can't see where the diesel pump is. Does it look like the mk1 version. He swears blind that it is on the engine but I can see it. Anyone able to put up a pic of what it looks like or tell me where it is. Thanks. Andy Quote
dragon32 Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 Hi, The actual fuel pump would most likely be in the fuel tank. As for the injector pump, if youlook at your engine for four silver pipes and follow them from the engine they will leas you to the injector pump. Not having a deisel myself that the best I can do. Hope it helps, Don Quote
seatkid Posted April 30, 2013 Report Posted April 30, 2013 Mk1 Diesel engines (1Z,AHU,AFN) have a rotary fuel distributor pump. Easy to see on the front of the block - just follow the metal pipes from the injectors down to it. MK1 (AHU fuel pump) Mk2 diesel engines are PD (pumpe duse) engines using unit injector technology. Mk2 engines also have a fuel lift pump (located in the fuel tank) and a tandem fuel pump which I think is located on the end of the cylinder head.
