51 Plate Window Problem

I have a 51 plate galaxy. The front passenger window switch will open the window but won't close it. Instead it has to be closed via the drivers door switch. Any thoughts?

could well be the fault is the wires in the door gaitors.well known problem.

I had same problem 

removed switch used contact cleaner

OK again. lasted a year so far

Well after being inspired by gregors advice I've attacked this issue as well. No such luck this time unfortunately as all wiring was good. Still scratching head on this problem. Have tried cleaning up connections but nothing. Will try the contact spray tomorrow whilst at work - cheers avee.

iirc you can remove another switch from the side you know that works and try it in the 1 that doesnt.if it still doesnt work and you have checked all the wires to it etc then it could well need a new switch.
