lordsmit Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 Hi my 2.3 mk1 galaxy ran out of fuel( well i forgot to put some in). when i had filled it up it now refuses to start. It turns over ok, but will not start. I'm losing the will to live at the moment. Quote
BrianH Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 Any beeping or weird behavior with the led on the drivers door? If there is have a look at the relay 30 threads (if it is this you may be able to fix with a soldering iron) I don't think you should have any problems requiring fuel priming so may be just coincidence? Sure it ran out to cause the problem in the first place? Quote
seatkid Posted April 20, 2013 Report Posted April 20, 2013 (edited) Could be an immobiliser issue Dropped the key or had the keyfob open? (and the PATS chip fell out.....) in that case you need to use the spare key, or try and find that PATS chip..... Edited April 20, 2013 by seatkid Quote
nexsuperne Posted April 21, 2013 Report Posted April 21, 2013 pulled crud up from the tank and blocked the fuel filter? Quote
Argrdnr Posted April 21, 2013 Report Posted April 21, 2013 I had that on my focus when I had it, coz u ran out of fuel u need to get it back into the system, took me 15-20 min to get it started eventually, it did cut out a couple times within that time, keep trying every minute or so. Worked for me Quote
daddyfixit Posted April 21, 2013 Report Posted April 21, 2013 if you put the ignition on and count to 10, turn I all he way off and do it again 2 or 3 timesthis gives the fuel pump time to prime itself and start sending fuel up. do this on all petrol cars when you change the fuel filter too. Quote
